Patio Sealing
Patio Sealing Services in Houston, Sugar Land, Missouri City and the Surrounding Area
If you have invested your time, effort and money into your back patio with natural stone or flagstones or pavers we suggest protecting your stone with a outdoor patio sealer. Backyard grills, campfires, heavy foot traffic and the hot scorching Texas sun will eventually put a beating on your stone and cause it to fade, discolor or abrade if you are not dilligent to water seal your patio or reseal your patio.
Our Process Sealing Your Patio
Water sealing your patio will enhance the color, resist fading from sun absorption, and prevent water and stains from damage and water absorption. Here is our process for sealing patio slabs and resealing patios.
First we prep the surface and make sure the patio has been pressure washed removing all dirt and debris creating a clean surface to apply your patio seal or reseal. We take extra time to make sure the patio is cleaned perfectly because any imperfection is nearly impossible to remove once the patio has been sealed.
Once we have ensured the weather conditions and temperature are suitable to apply your sealer we can begin the process. The surface needs to be dry for 72 hours before application and then depending on the patio sealing product you use needs to stay dry after application to be given time to cure.
We then mask all unpainted surfaces such as siding, doors, curbs, plants, pergolas, etc to make sure when we begin apply the cement patio sealer that no overspray makes its way onto any of the unsealed surfaces.
We then apply the first coat which is meant as a base coat on the slab. We use a water based acrylic sealer that is easy to apply, economical, better for the envirnoment and well suited for outdoors. We use a low pressure sprayer to apply the seal ensuring there are no brush or roller marks on the surface. Once the first coat has cured for an hour or so we will go ahead and apply the second coat which ensures no spots are missed and your patio is protected.
