This Is Why You Can’t Trust Your Painting Contractor

When you are doing new work on your house this should be an exciting experience. Painting your home should be about transforming and updating your space into an expression of you. It’s an opportunity to allow your creativity to flourish and leave the technical aspects to a professional who will know the proper products and application process, as well as how to safeguard against any possible hiccups. However, something I have noticed that comes up frequently when doing painting estimates for the residents of Houston, Sugar Land, Missouri City and the surrounding area is how often a prospective client will mention how they have been burned by a contractor.

Reputation

It’s an experience everyone has had where the deal was made, the contractor did the work and something goes wrong. Now all of a sudden the contractor is hard to get a hold of, wants more money or begins to make excuses.

When you're making this investment into your home you need to have confidence that the contractor understands your vision and will stick to his commitments. You deserve to feel fully satisfied with the investment you are making so when the project is over you don’t feel like you did not get exactly what you wanted.

All business requires trust. But in the trades trust had been broken between the contractor and the consumer. Here are some ways that we are trying to fix that.

Accountability

It used to be that any guy in a truck could show up at your door to paint your house without any accountability. Nowadays though things have changed. Contractor’s reputations have made customers rightfully anxious about who they do business with.

Fortunately there are tools online like google reviews, next door recommendations and facebook groups where you can see customers either complain about or praise contractors. This is something that should scare an irresponsible contractor. It is a level of accountability that is sifting out the bad contractors and forcing contractors to either improve or go out of business.

We have a protocol when painting your house to ensure anything that can go wrong is mitigated. However inevitably something slips through the cracks.

Problem Resolution

It is not a question of if something will go wrong. It's a question about how you handle it. As a business owner I have learned that customers are very understanding when something goes wrong if they feel like you are willing to take responsibility for the situation.

There are always new ways to improve upon our process to avoid these mistakes being made. However when they occur we are committed to make the wrong thing right and committed to always leaving your home better than we found it. I have had situations where something went wrong but because of how we handled it our client was not just satisfied but gave us return business and referrals! That is what business is all about! When something goes wrong that is an opportunity to show your customer you will not let them down which creates MORE trust!

It’s all about trust

There are a lot of people in Houston who are ready to pull the trigger on painting their house but have not yet because the idea of finding a contractor that they can trust seems impossible. The process of getting multiple quotes with wildly different prices and then trying to hunt down references and asking for pictures of previous work is all good due diligence however without trust none of it means anything.

Thank you to all our previous customers who have done business with us in the past we truly appreciate the opportunity. And for all our future customers we hope that from the first interaction all the way through you feel like we are a painting company you can trust. 🙂
