How Paint It Forward Works
Nominate Someone in Need
Every year, Sugar Land residents and neighboring communities nominate families, nonprofit organizations, or individuals who could benefit from a fresh coat of paint but may not have the means to afford it.
We Select Projects That Matter
Our team carefully reviews submissions and chooses projects based on the impact they will have on the recipient’s quality of life and the community as a whole.
We Provide Professional Painting – Completely Free
Once a project is selected, our crew handles everything—prep, painting, and cleanup—at no cost to the recipient. The result is a refreshed space that sparks hope and joy.
Why We Started Paint It Forward in Sugar Land
We’ve painted hundreds of homes across Sugar Land and surrounding areas. Along the way, we’ve met incredible people who inspire us. Paint It Forward allows us to give back, connect with our city, and use our skills to make a difference.
This program isn’t about business; it’s about community. A freshly painted home can uplift a family, provide a safe space, and restore dignity during hard times.
Gayle’s House - 2026
Paint It Forward 2026 – West Houston Complete Exterior & Interior Wall Restoration
In 2026, we took Paint It Forward to the next level.
Gail’s home was the perfect candidate. The exterior hadn’t been painted in over 20 years. There was significant wood rot, failing trim, and exposed fascia, leaving the home vulnerable to Houston’s heat and humidity.
The Proud Paintbrush stepped in to perform a full exterior wood repair and house painting project in West Houston, TX.
Exterior Restoration Scope
Scraped and removed all failing paint
Replaced rotten boards and damaged trim
Patched and filled all repaired areas
Caulked the entire home (it had never been fully caulked before)
Applied two full coats of premium exterior paint
This wasn’t just a cosmetic update — it was structural protection. Proper caulking and sealing alone dramatically extended the life of the exterior.
Then we moved inside.
Interior Drywall Repair & Painting
Gail had been dealing with foundation issues for years, which left drywall cracks throughout the home. Many homeowners in the Houston and Sugar Land area know how common this is.
Our team:
Repaired drywall cracks end-to-end
Patched damaged areas seamlessly
Skimmed and blended walls
Painted the interior walls from corner to corner
When we finished, you couldn’t tell there had ever been cracks.
This project reflects what The Proud Paintbrush stands for:
Exterior painting, wood repair, drywall repair, and full interior painting — done with craftsmanship and care.
If you’re searching for a trusted West Houston exterior painting company or need professional drywall repair and interior painting, we’d be honored to serve your home next.
Joanne’s House - 2025
Our First Paint It Forward Exterior – Sugar Land, TX
Our very first Paint It Forward exterior project in Sugar Land, Texas was for Joanne — and it was a special one.
Joanne’s home was ready for help. The fascia boards were deteriorating and falling off, the wooden gate was damaged, and the entire exterior had clearly seen better days. Like many homes in the Houston area climate, the paint had broken down from years of heat, humidity, and storms.
Our team at The Proud Paintbrush stepped in to provide:
Exterior fascia repairs
Gate restoration and repainting
Full exterior surface preparation
Professional exterior house painting
Premium paint donated by Sherwin-Williams
With the generous support of Sherwin-Williams, who donated five gallons of high-quality exterior paint, and with our entire crew donating time and labor, we were able to completely refresh Joanne’s home.
This wasn’t just another Sugar Land exterior painting project — it was a family effort. We brought everyone together to serve, restore, and give back to our community.
The transformation was incredible. Fresh paint, repaired trim, and a restored gate brought new life and protection to the home. More importantly, it reminded us why we love what we do — serving homeowners in Sugar Land and the greater Houston area with integrity, craftsmanship, and heart.
If you're looking for a trusted exterior painting company in Sugar Land, TX, we’d be honored to serve you — and maybe even paint it forward again.
